"King Kunta" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kendrick Lamar, taken from his third album, ''To Pimp a Butterfly'' (2015). It was released as the album's third single on March 9, 2015, while the music video premiered on Vevo and YouTube, on June 30, 2015.
==Background==
Lamar was a musical guest for ''Saturday Night Live'' alongside label-mate Jay Rock and Chantal. Many expected Lamar to premiere "King Kunta" on the show. However, Kendrick decided to perform "i" and his guest verse on Rock's "Pay for It", for which Rock and Chantal came out and performed with him.
